SR Tucker Quarter Horses is owned and operated by Stacey and Randy Tucker of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Stacey Tucker, trainer and manager of SR Tucker Quarter Horses, is an experienced judge, rider, competitor, and breeder. She began working with horses and taking riding lessons at the age of seven and continued to build her skills and abilities in all areas of horsemanship and the equine industry through high school and college. Stacey was born in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Stacey has a BA Degree in Animal Science with a Major in Equine Sciences from Middle Tennessee State University. The Equine Science Program emphasized in breeding farm management (artificial insemination), colt breaking and training, stable management, teaching, horsemanship, and horse selection and judging. Stacey attended her internship at Colorado State University. She has an Associate Degree in Animal Science Veterinary Health Technology from Essex College, Baltimore, Maryland and she is a graduate of their Veterinary Technology Program as a certified veterinarian technician. She has also received her Farrier training at FT. Meyer, Virginia, and was a gradate of the United States Army Animal Care Specialist School, Walter Reed Army Medical Institute of Research in Washington, DC.
Showing horses became Stacey's passion at the age of eleven. She spent eight years competing on American Saddlebreds in equitation, pleasure, and gaited events. After experiencing the Saddlebred industry, she began showing American Quarter Horses. Some of the events included were jumping, halter, pleasure, horsemanship, reining, equitation, competitive trail, and showmanship. Stacey also competed on the Middle Tennessee State University equestrian team in hunt seat, stock seat, and saddle seat equitation classes. Furthermore, she was a member of the competitive horse judging team. She judged at the U.S. Arabian Nationals and the North American All Breed Judging Contest and was seventh high point individual out of 300 contestants.
Stacey apprenticed under nationally known trainers while in college and after she graduated. In addition, she has extensive training with Brad Wilson in colt breaking and horse psychology training using the Ray Hunt training methods. Stacey's experience as a teacher includes horsemanship clinics, college level riding instruction, and becoming a program director for the Girl Scouts Horsemanship Camps and 4H Camps. As an approved judge, she has performed clinics on horsemanship and showmanship.
Stacey and her Husband, Randy Tucker, own and operate their own training and breeding program. Randy instructs all ages of students as well as trains all ages of horses, including our AQHA Stallion, Principle Decision. Randy is skilled in the areas of equine psychology, colt breaking, and halter conditioning. His specialty is competing in pleasure and futurity events. He competes in events such as halter, western pleasure, yearling in hand trail, and yearling longe line. He coaches students at home and away at the shows.
